The 2026 Spring Tournament—the third event of the 2026 Houston Chess Circuit—took place in Houston, TX, on March 29 at the Houston Chess Studio. The event brought together 10 players in a 6-round Swiss System format, with a time control of G/30, d10 (30 minutes per player with a 10-second delay per move).

Tournament Highlights
The tournament’s top seed, Joshua Ruiz, claimed 1st place with a perfect 6/6. Along with a commemorative plaque, he earned $400 and 13 circuit points. Eric E Delvillar finished 2nd with 5 points, earning $100 and 9 circuit points, while Zayn Shanmuganathan tied for 3rd with Winnie Tsuchida-Tomashevsky on 3 points and received 5 circuit points due to Winnie’s forfeit. All remaining players who completed every round without forfeits or withdrawals received 1 circuit point.
