Nidjat Mamedov, an International Grandmaster since 2006, is a leading figure in global chess. He has represented the Azerbaijani National Team at major events including the 2000 World Chess Olympiad, and the World Team Championships in 2010 and 2013.
His impressive tournament record includes 1st place at the Bas Wiessee Open (2007), Hastings Masters (shared, 2008), Prague Open (2012), Teplice Open (2013), Nakhchivan Open (2017), and 1st at the Azerbaijan Championship (2011). He also competed in the 2023 FIDE World Cup.
